What actually makes something good—or evil? In Moroni 7:12, we’re told that everything good comes from God, while evil comes from the devil, who “fighteth against him continually.” But what does that look like in ordinary life? Kevin and Justin start with some surprisingly everyday questions about family, Sabbath observance, Halloween movies, football, and the gray areas where “good” and “evil” don’t always feel as obvious as we might expect. Then the conversation turns. What if evil can be understood, at least in part, as anything that separates us from God? And what if one of Satan’s most effective tools isn’t simply creating contention between people—but creating contention inside of us? That question leads to a conversation about politics, family, sin, shame, internal conflict, justification, and the way division inside ourselves can eventually spill into our relationships with everyone around us. No definitive answers. Just two dudes trying to understand one verse a little better.
